The spaces we inhabit are urban. Reducing the human carbon footprint and mitigating effects of global warming is closely entangled with the energy efficiency of buildings, where significant energy savings can be achieved through renovations. The most challenging task we are facing today is to transcend the threshold between the public and the private domain. Eco Stack is working towards rich data environments that sense the private domain to add to the global efforts of making spatial data.

Eco Stack creates spatial data models through sensor networks

Energy Auditors - Eco Stack supports energy auditors in delivering the best service to their customers by providing a rich environment of spatial data and analysis products. Eco Stack combines lidar images, open source satellite, and municipal data to create an actionable 3D model of a building's metabolic flow. Eco Stack integrates data from a building's energy and water use, temperature permeability, regional climate, and architectural particulars.

Property Managers - Eco Stack empowers property managers to take educated investment decisions for the renovation of their properties. We work towards a comprehensible framework of cost optimal renovation strategies for existing buildings that is directly derived from in person sensing of the spatial definitions of a home.

Roman Shemakov

Is a writer and economist based in Beijing. He has worked for an infrastructure development firm in Taipei as a Henry Luce Scholar and at a climate tech venture capital firm in Singapore. In 2021, he co-authored The Digital Transformation of Property in Great China (World Scientific Publishing). In 2022, he curated and edited Decarbonizing Asia: Innovation, Investment, and Opportunities (World Scientific Publishing).

Maximilian Schob

Is a Landscape Architect, lecturer, and transdisciplinary researcher based in Berlin and Oslo. His work focuses on the entanglements of remote sensing technologies, Geodesign, and the production of contemporary landscapes. He is currently a Ph.D. fellow at NMBU, Norway, where he works on his thesis on Geodesign.

Sean Greaves

Is a Technologist with a degree from the Edinburgh College of Art. He has worked in solutions engineering roles for Seldon and IBM, specializing in machine learning infrastructure and open-source software. He recently lead solutions engineering for partnerships and strategic alliances globally at Seldon.

Danya Orlovsky

Is a motion designer, multidisciplinary researcher and contemporary artist. He has a specialist degree in Graphic Design from Stroganov Academy of Art and Industry and MA Artistic Strategies at ICA Moscow. Danya is an associate professor of Communication Design at the Stroganov Academy of Art and Industry and a member of APXIV artist collective.
